Kub Kar Rally – April 14th 2018

March 18, 2018 by sctrjeff

When: Saturday, April 14th 2018

Time: 10 AM to 3 PM

Where: Thomas A. Stewart Secondary School, Armour Road, Peterborough.

Theme: OPEN THEME! As many groups have already begun building their vehicles, the ideas from our meeting was that all youth should design whatever they wish!

Cost: $12 per youth and $5 per leader – includes crests (thanks to Scouter Deryck for ordering those – we are hopeful that they will arrive on time), awards, door prizes, and a hot dog/fruit/veggie/dessert/drink lunch.

Please Note: Each attending group is asked to run a 25 minute activity that youth will rotate through during the day. This continues our past success of having a full day of Scouting activities in addition to the a race. The activity could be a game, skill, lesson, challenge or the like. The idea is for the youth to have fun, work together, and keep busy. The activity should be one that could be visited by a Colony, a Pack, or a Troop. That way, it is easier to set up a schedule for the day when the activity is not section specific.

All entries shall be the standard Beaver Buggy, Kub Kar, or 18 wheeler Scout Truck kit available through the Scout Shop at Camp Samac. The weigh/inspection station will be a part of the rotation of activities for each group of youth during the day, as will be the race. Attached are the rules for the Kub Kars and Scout Trucks for you to have in advance – thanks to Scouter Deryck for passing those along from KWA’s past events.
